Frequently asked

Questions worth asking before you hire anyone.

Thirty-odd answers we've given dozens of times. If yours isn't here, email hello@amoradigital.com.au.

About the studio

Are you actually one person, or a team?

Founder-led means the founder is the principal on every engagement. For build-heavy projects we bring in a shortlist of senior contractors the founder has personally worked with — they're named in your scope, not anonymous. We never subcontract offshore.

Where are you based?

Australia-wide, remote-first. In-person meetings in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane by arrangement. Clients outside the capitals aren't a second-class citizen here — arguably the opposite.

Why "founder-led" matters

In a typical agency, seniors sell and juniors deliver. At Amora — we're not an agency, we're a studio — the person in the sales call is the person writing the code, shipping the system, tuning the AI. It's faster, more honest, and produces better work. It does mean we take on fewer projects at once.

How many clients do you take on at once?

We cap active engagements so every one gets senior attention. The exact number varies with project size, but we say "no" often and with a referral where we can.

Pricing & contracts

How much does a website cost?

See the pricing page — real numbers, not "contact us." A brochure site for a local business starts around $4.9K; a bespoke scaling site around $9.8K; mid-market from $19.5K.

Do you do month-to-month retainers?

Yes, after a 90-day runway so strategy has time to compound. After that it's month-to-month, cancellable with 30 days' notice.

Why fixed-scope instead of hourly?

Hourly rewards the builder for taking longer. Fixed-scope aligns us with finishing. If we underestimate, that's our problem — not yours.

Do you charge % of ad spend?

No. Flat management fee. Charging on spend means we make more if we recommend bigger ad budgets — exactly the wrong incentive.

What about deposits and payment terms?

Typical terms: 40% deposit on sign-off, 30% at a named milestone, 30% on launch. Invoiced in AUD, payable by bank transfer or card.

Do you offer finance options?

Yes, three ways: milestone payment plans (interest-free, split over 3–12 months), third-party business finance via Prospa / Moula / Lumi for builds over $50K, and hybrid equity arrangements case-by-case for founder-stage clients with strong product-market fit. All options are quoted in writing inside 48 hours of your ask. See the pricing page for the full breakdown.

Can you refund a project?

If we decline or recommend against the work after discovery, we refund the deposit in full. Mid-project refunds are handled case-by-case but in writing, proportional to delivered work.

What does it cost to build something like ClaimDone.com.au?

For a fully automated AI SaaS solution at that scope — multi-agent AI pipelines, human-in-the-loop review, payment and identity integrations, admin tooling, customer dashboards and the marketing site around it — budget around $500K all-in.

That's genuinely different work to a marketing site: 6–9 months of build, milestone-based payments split across phases, and fixed-scope per phase rather than one lump. We quote AI SaaS engagements in three phases (discovery & prototype, MVP, scale) so you can stop, adjust, or keep going between each — not committed to the whole $500K on day one.

Do you build AI SaaS products and custom software, or just marketing sites?

Both. Marketing sites start at $4,900. Full AI SaaS product builds start around $80K for a focused internal tool, and scale to $500K+ for end-to-end automated platforms like ClaimDone. We quote custom software separately — see our contact page and mention "AI SaaS build" in your enquiry.

Process

How long does a project take?

Starter sites 2–3 weeks. Bespoke 4–8 weeks. Mid-market 8–14 weeks. E-commerce 8–16 weeks. Rapid MVPs 4 weeks exactly. Timelines are driven by your content-review speed more than our build speed.

Can you really ship an MVP in 4 weeks?

Yes — with the right scope. Our Rapid MVP Sprint is a fixed 28-day engagement: one week of validation, one week of architecture, two weeks of build. It works because we keep the surface area tight, use boring-reliable tools, and automate with AI where safe. If we miss the date, your deposit is refunded — that's the deal.

Do you build crypto exchanges, trading bots, IoT devices, home automation?

All four, yes. Crypto exchange frontends with CEX/DEX liquidity routing, trading bots with risk controls, IoT firmware and fleet telemetry, home-automation hubs with Matter / HomeKit / Google Home bridges. If you can draw it on a napkin, we've probably shipped something adjacent. Ask us about your specific idea on a 30-minute call.

What if we miss a deadline?

If we caused it, we tell you before you notice and absorb the cost. If client delays caused it, we say so and rescope — the project doesn't stop, it just shifts.

How many revisions are included?

Two rounds per deliverable. A third round is quoted separately so nobody gets stuck in infinite-revision purgatory.

Can I see progress before launch?

Every Friday during active build. You get a short demo video or a staging URL. The cadence is async-first — no "status call about the status call."

Technical

Which platforms do you build on?

WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, and headless setups when they're genuinely warranted. Platform-agnostic — we bring the work into your stack, not the other way around.

Do you use page builders like Elementor?

Generally no. They're fine as tools but they lock you into migration costs later. We build with the native block editor and custom theme code.

What about Core Web Vitals and accessibility?

Both are baseline, not upsells. We target WCAG 2.1 AA, LCP under 2.5s, INP under 200ms, and CLS under 0.1 on mobile.

Do you handle hosting?

We recommend SiteGround, WP Engine, Cloudways or Shopify depending on fit. We manage hosting as part of the care plan, but the account is always yours.

Who owns the code?

You do. Source is either committed to your git repository or delivered as a zip on handover. No proprietary licensing, no hidden lock-ins.

Do you also do the new AI-search stuff — GEO, AEO, LLMO?

Yes, and they're part of the standard SEO engagement — not an upsell. Search has fractured: SEO for Google and Bing, GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) for AI-generated answers, AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) for Perplexity / You.com / Brave, and LLMO (Large Language Model Optimisation) for ChatGPT Search, Claude and Gemini. We work across all of them and track AI-visibility alongside classical rankings.

What's the difference between SEO, GEO, AEO and LLMO?

SEO gets you ranked in a list of blue links. GEO gets your content surfaced inside AI-generated answers (Google's AI Overviews, SGE). AEO gets you cited in answer engines like Perplexity. LLMO gets you referenced when users ask ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini a question. The tactics overlap heavily — clean technical setup, clear entity signals, citation-worthy content — but the measurement and outputs differ per channel.

Can you actually track AI-search visibility?

Imperfectly, yes. Direct referral traffic from Perplexity, ChatGPT and Claude shows up in analytics. AI Overviews impressions are visible in Google Search Console. For others, we use prompt-testing frameworks (asking the target LLMs common buyer questions and logging whether your brand or content is cited). Not a dashboard yet — but measurable enough to steer by.

Support & ongoing

What happens after launch?

A post-launch warranty period (30–90 days depending on tier) where we fix bugs free. After that, you can either self-maintain, move to a care plan, or hand off to another provider. Your choice.

Can you help me hand over to another builder if things change?

Yes, and we do it well — because we want our last impression with you to be a good one, not a grudge. Handover package includes credentials, documentation and a 60-minute call with the new team.

What if Google changes something and my site traffic drops?

On a retainer, that's what we're watching for. We'll diagnose, triage, and ship fixes without waiting for you to ask. Off-retainer, we'll still respond — but at project rates.

Do you offer training?

Every engagement includes a 60-minute handover video tailored to your site. Group training sessions are quoted separately.

Didn't find yours? Send the question to hello@amoradigital.com.au and we'll answer within one business day — and probably add it here for the next person.
